The Festival is taking place at the Alban Arena, Civic Centre, St Albans, AL1 3LD just off St Peters Street in the City Centre. Every bus in St Albans stops in St Peters Street – just a couple of minutes from the Arena – and the two railway stations are 12-15 minutes walk away.
Rail
St Albans City station is easily reached by train on the Thameslink Railway if travelling from London or Bedford, with a frequent service throughout the day and evening.
St Albans Abbey station is served by London North Western Railway from Watford Junction (for connections to Hemel Hempstead and Milton Keynes). These trains are not so frequent – check times before travelling.
Buses
There is a network of buses from many parts of Hertfordshire to St Albans, plus local buses to get around the City. Details of the times of all buses to and from St Albans – and throughout Hertfordshire – can be found on the Intalink website.
Great Value Fares and Improved Frequencies
It has never been easier or better value to travel to the St Albans Beer & Cider Festival by bus! The £2 fare cap applies to all buses to St Albans (except route 357), so it will cost you no more than £4 to get to the Festival and home again.
In addition, Hertfordshire County Council has been working with local operators over the past year to improve the bus services on key links across the county. The result is that there is now a frequency of at least 4 buses an hour (on weekday daytimes) on these main corridors to St Albans:
Luton, Harpenden (routes 321, 721 – 2 buses an hour on Saturdays)
Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield (routes 301, 302, 601, 653, 724, 725)
Watford (routes 321, 724, 725)
Hemel Hempstead (routes 302, 721 - 2 buses an hour on Saturdays)
