If you're visiting us from outside the area, why not also take the opportunity to explore the beautiful historic city of St Albans. Our city has so much to offer: wonderful heritage, first class shopping with an abundance of independent shops; and of course some incredible pubs and bars catering for all tastes.

Built on the site of Roman Verulamium, St Albans is a cathedral city named after the first British saint and first recorded British Christian martyr. Its rich history is very much present and celebrated today, including with two museums, and parts of the Roman city walls remain.

In more modern times, St Albans was once known for boasting more pubs per square mile than anywhere else in the country! While this is no longer (quite) the case, a great many characterful pubs can still be enjoyed, from grand historic coaching inns, to unspoilt backstreet boozers, to modern craft-focused bars.
