Join cheese expert James Grant and internationally renowned beer writer Des de Moor, as they team up to match outstanding wild and sour beers with some exceptional British cheeses.

In this exclusive event, you will be able to sample a range of high quality, artisan cheeses, all with distinct flavours, aromas, textures and appearances, from James' celebrated Buckinghamshire delicatessen No2 Pound Street. These will be paired with generous pours of four different superb sour and wild beers, specially selected by Des to complement them.

Wild beer is a speciality beer style that originated in Belgium but is now practiced by many craft brewers here in the UK and across the world. Fermented using organisms other than standard brewer’s yeast, they have acidity as a prominent feature. The acid is usually lactic, which is odourless and tasteless but brings tartness. They can be an acquired taste for some but are highly celebrated by beer aficionados.

James is an award-winning cheese expert who has worked in some of the UK's most prestigious establishments. He travels the length and breadth of the UK to find, taste and bring back to the local area some of the finest artisan cheese the country has to offer. Des is an author of many beer-related books, including London's Best Beer, Pubs and Bars. His most recent, award-winning title Cask explains what makes live draught beer special, and explores its past, present and future.

Both will be talking and answering questions about their careers and their adventures in their respective fields, as well as guiding you through the beers and cheeses and how their flavours complement one another.
