We're proud to confirm that, as part of this year's St Albans Beer & Cider Festival, we're staging a very special tutored tasting session, hosted jointly by Harvey's Brewery's head brewer and joint managing director Miles Jenner, and world-renowned beer writer Roger Protz.

Starting at 7pm on the opening Wednesday of the festival, you'll be given a guided tasting through four very special Harvey's ales spanning a range of styles. As well as enjoying generous samples of each beer (included in the ticket price), you'll get to hear the stories behind the beers and the iconic Sussex brewery where they are produced. Head brewer at Harvey's since 1986, Miles has an incredible history in brewing and some fascinating tales to tell.

Meanwhile Roger, who has written dozens of books about beer and for many years edited the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, will also offer his expert take on the characteristics of the beers and the origins and history of the styles. Both Miles and Roger will also take questions about their long careers and experience.

This is a rare opportunity, and ticket numbers are strictly limited. We have available an advance ticket package that includes this guided beer tasting session, as well as general festival admission and a souvenir glass so you can then enjoy the rest of the festival once the session has concluded.
